The Compleo eBOX professional cable EKA is a 22 kW wallbox compliant with Austrian and German calibration law (Eichrecht) with a permanently attached 6.5 m Type 2 cable – for charging points where nobody should have to unpack their own cable: hotels, restaurants, company and guest car parks. With a free choice of SIM, Plug & Charge to ISO 15118-2 (from firmware 3.x) and load balancing between several stations.
At a glance
| Charging power | up to 22 kW (32 A, 1–3 phases) |
|---|---|
| Connection to the car | Type 2 cable, 6.5 m, permanently attached |
| Meter | compliant with Austrian and German calibration law (Eichrecht) (MID class A, signed meter readings) |
| Connectivity | LAN, Wi-Fi, mobile network with your own mini SIM (anySIM) |
| Charging communication | ISO 15118-2, Plug & Charge from firmware 3.x (with a compatible backend) |
| Authorisation | RFID, Plug & Charge (from firmware 3.x), backend (OCPP 1.6) |
Right for you if …
- you resell charging power to guests, customers, tenants, co-owners or employees for their private cars,
- your users should simply plug in without having to bring a cable.
Probably not for you if …
- you only need to document your own costs, for example for company car charging reimbursement – then the eBOX professional cable MID is enough,
- different vehicles are meant to charge with their own cables – then the socket EKA is more flexible.
What it can do
- Eichrecht-compliant billing: Eichrecht-compliant metering with signed meter readings (OCMF) for reselling charging power to others, in Austria and Germany alike.
- Plug in and charge: 6.5 m cable permanently attached to the station – reaches whether you park forwards or in reverse.
- Free choice of SIM and backend: mini SIM slot (anySIM), LAN, Wi-Fi; OCPP 1.6 for common OCPP backends.
- Charging without a card: Plug & Charge to ISO 15118-2 (from firmware 3.x, with a compatible backend) for cars that support it; otherwise RFID or backend.
- Several charging points on the same connection: load balancing between eBOXes without additional hardware, dynamic and with solar surplus via a smart meter (e.g. Siemens PAC2200, Shelly Pro 3EM) or an energy management system.
- Robust: IP55, IK10, −30 to +50 °C, DC fault current detection built in, LED light ring.
Good to know
- Billing: For that you need a backend – we offer Smartfuelpass by Ultima Payments or Vaylens.
- Setup: via LAN and WebConfig in the browser; the eConfig app only works to a limited extent.
- To be provided on site: Type A RCD (40 A / 30 mA) and C40 miniature circuit breaker; 22 kW usually with the grid operator's approval.
Frequently asked questions
Cable or socket – which is better for guests?
With a fixed cable nobody has to bring their own; that's usually the better choice for hotels and restaurants.
Who bills the charging sessions?
A backend with Eichrecht-compliant processing, such as Smartfuelpass or Vaylens – we'll set it up for you on request.
Can I run several eBOXes on one house connection?
Yes, with load balancing on the local network and, if you like, dynamically with a smart meter.
Do I need a SIM card?
Only if there's no LAN or Wi-Fi at the charging point; then a mini SIM from your provider.
How fast does a guest charge?
At 22 kW, about 22 kWh go into the car in one hour – enough for a good 100 km – provided the car can charge at 22 kW AC. Most cars charge at 11 kW, in which case it's about half that.
