The Compleo eBOX professional socket EKA is a 22 kW wallbox compliant with Austrian and German calibration law (Eichrecht) for charging points where electricity is billed: hotel car parks, company premises, residential complexes, restaurants. The Type 2 socket suits any vehicle with its own cable, while Plug & Charge to ISO 15118-2 (from firmware 3.x) and a free choice of SIM make it ready for semi-public charging.
At a glance
| Charging power | up to 22 kW (32 A, 1–3 phases) |
|---|---|
| Connection to the car | Type 2 socket |
| Meter | compliant with Austrian and German calibration law (Eichrecht) (MID class A, signed meter readings) |
| Connectivity | LAN, Wi-Fi, mobile network with your own mini SIM (anySIM) |
| Charging communication | ISO 15118-2, Plug & Charge from firmware 3.x (with a compatible backend) |
| Authorisation | RFID, Plug & Charge (from firmware 3.x), backend (OCPP 1.6) |
Right for you if …
- you want to resell charging power to guests, tenants, co-owners, customers or employees for their private cars,
- different vehicles with their own cables charge at your charging point,
- you want a free choice of backend and mobile contract.
Probably not for you if …
- you only need to document your own costs, for example for your employer's company car charging reimbursement – then MID is enough, for example the eBOX professional cable MID,
- guests arrive without their own cable – then go for the cable EKA with a fixed cable.
What it can do
- Eichrecht-compliant billing: Eichrecht-compliant metering with signed meter readings (OCMF) – the prerequisite for being allowed to resell charging power to others, in Austria and Germany alike.
- Free choice of SIM and backend: mini SIM slot (anySIM) for any mobile contract, plus LAN and Wi-Fi; OCPP 1.6 for common OCPP backends.
- Charging without a card: cars with Plug & Charge to ISO 15118-2 log in automatically when plugged in (from firmware 3.x, with a compatible backend); all others via RFID or backend.
- Several charging points on the same connection: load balancing between several eBOXes on the local network without additional hardware; dynamic and with solar surplus via a Modbus TCP smart meter (e.g. Siemens PAC2200, Shelly Pro 3EM) or an energy management system.
- Built for continuous operation: IP55 and IK10, operation from −30 to +50 °C, DC fault current detection built in, LED light ring showing the charging status.
Good to know
- Billing: Eichrecht-compliant metering is one half, billing is the other. For that you need a backend – we offer Smartfuelpass by Ultima Payments or Vaylens.
- Setup: reliable via LAN and the WebConfig browser interface; the eConfig app now only works to a limited extent.
- To be provided on site: Type A RCD (40 A / 30 mA) and C40 miniature circuit breaker. 22 kW usually requires the grid operator's approval.
Frequently asked questions
Do I really need the Eichrecht-compliant version?
Yes, as soon as you resell charging power to others – tenants, co-owners, hotel guests, customers or employees for their private cars – in Austria and Germany alike. For company car charging reimbursement for your own company car, MID is enough.
Who bills the charging sessions?
A backend that processes the signed meter readings. If you like, we'll set up Smartfuelpass or Vaylens for you – write to us at onlinesales@ampion.at.
Can I run several eBOXes on one house connection?
Yes. The eBOXes share the power among themselves on the local network, and with a smart meter also dynamically based on actual consumption.
Do I need a SIM card?
Only if there's no LAN or Wi-Fi available at the charging point. In that case, you insert a mini SIM from your provider.
